Lilac is a Rambouillet ewe. Her fleece is a variegated dark taupey coffee and medium grey with light sliver highlights throughout. Her fleece has a staple length of 3 inches and a weight of 6.85 pounds. Lilac is truly a story of inspiration. When she was a yearling my daughter’s bottle calf accidentally crushed her back legs. We believed she would never walk again, but we couldn’t just give up on her. We moved her into the barn and provided her with fresh water and food daily. She never lost her appetite so we had hope that maybe she would heal. After a month of no progress we decided it was time to let her go. The very next day, we went into the barn and there she was, standing up. It was truly a miracle. Lilac is a constant reminder that not only are our ewes resilient, but truly incredibly. Now Lilac is with the main herd, raising lambs of her own, and enjoying her life.
